As members of the Mountain Club, we enjoy access to some amazing mountains, forests and coastal areas throughout the country and abroad.
Although some areas are only accessible to Mountain Club members, there are also national hiking trails managed by SANparks and some public activities are allowed on privately owned areas. If you have any information about such open activities in your area or if you are willing to share some factual information on hiking trails you have done, please mail me! fn.vanberkel@gmail.com. Please note that this page will not serve to advertise any businesses, it purely aims at promoting accessibility to our spectacular South African mountains and wilderness.
Feel free to download this form and fill in any information you would like to share with fellow adventurers - Trails & Crags information form
Please include: Access arrangements, permits, rules, contact details, cost, directions and waypoints (if you have any), description of the activities, problems you encountered, do's and don'ts, things to definitely bring along and what you can go without. Please note that I might need to edit some of the details before publishing to this page.
